Members of Parliament led by Majority Leader Aden Duale and Minority Leader John Mbadi say that they have no intention of increasing their salaries.
They faulted President Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga for commenting on the salary increment that never was.
It was opposition Chief Whip Junet Mohammed who rose on a point of order to complain that talk about MPs 'greed" is unfair.
He was supported by Mr Duale who said the bill was being fought by a senior clerk whom, he claimed, was fighting proposal to put the senior parliamentary service commission on performance contracting.
Mr Duale added that the Bill does not concern the Counties - hence it won't be shared with The Senate
Mr Mbadi blamed media and National Assembly communications team for allowing the "distortion" of the bill. He called on the Budget Committee to publish the list of salaries for all public officers
