Safaricom PLC Chief Executive Officer Bob Collymore has made the first public appearance after a 9 months medical leave in London.
The CEO of East Africa's most profitable firm broke the news via his Twitter handle on Monday, August 6.
“I’m back. Thanks to everyone who supported me over the past 9 months especially the clinical team at @UCLH, my superb @SafaricomPLC team and of course my wife @WambuiKamiru,” he tweeted.
Mr Collynore thanked his medical team, Safaricom colleagues and his family for the support.
While he was away, the telecommunications industry was hit by illegal SIM-swap scams. Besides that, his full in-tray will include his competitors' push to have the firm's dominance declared.
