Supporters of Raila Odinga carry his potrait at venue of his swearing in on Janaury 30, 2018
Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) has shut down television stations for showing the swearing in ceremony of opposition leader Raila Odinga.
Citizen TV, KTN News and NTV were shut early Tuesday in an unprecedented move condemned by many Kenyans.
Editors Guild Chairman Linus Kaikai had condemned State House threats on what he called as media gagging.
Its not clear how soon the government will take to re-open the stations. It left the national broadcaster KBC Channel One and K24 TV associated with the First Family.
