The Polish CEO purge of locals has heightened after Kenya Airways’ human resources director resigned on November 2, 2017 hardly 5 months into the job.
Mr Sammy Chepkwony joined the national carrier from Tata Chemicals Magadi where he held the same position.
His memo to staff, allegedly resigning, to 'pursue other interests' remained unconvincing to many given the short stint he has served in his position.
Sources within the company claimed that Mr Chepkwony felt frustrated by the all "powerful" CEO Sebastian Mikosz who has been on the spree of replacing locals with fellow nationals from Poland.
Its, however, not contemplated that a foreigner can run the human resources docket competently. We were unable reach Mr Mikosz for comment.
Kenya Airways resuscitation hopes were heightened after Safaricom Ltd founding CEO Mr Michael Joseph joined the KQ board as Chairman.
