According to Soko Directory article, "Kenyans anger even boiled the more when the Managing Director for Vivo Energy Polycarp Igathe threatened to sue the Energy Regulatory Commission for putting the name of his company among the list of fraud fuel merchants. Kenyans feel that Mr. Igathe wanted to conceal the truth that had been let out by ERC instead of coming out clean about the claims:

Mr Igathe has since resigned from the company to join the Nairobi politics as running mate to Jubilee candidate Mr Mike Mbuvi alias Sonko. The company fuels most government agencies including the seat of power, State House. 

Vivo Energy has continued to blatantly ignore all consumer complaints. Unless threatened with legal action, they do not act. 

Kenyans have continued to complain to Shell but none of their concerns are addressed as their cars continue to be damaged. 

Cofek is encouraging affected consumers to report the malpractices with a view to bringing up a class action suit against Vivo Energy
