The Cofek Secretary General Mr Stephen Mutoro (right) has today resigned from the Anti-Counterfeits Agency (ACA) board of directors.

Here is what he said of his resignation addressed to Cabinet Secretary for Industry, Trade and Cooperatives Mr Adan Mohammed;

I have today resigned as a director of the Anti-Counterfeit Agency (ACA) to concentrate on my candidature for Bungoma County gubernatorial bid on ANC ticket.

I am proud that I am leaving ACA as a better institution and on a strong trajectory to effectively stemming the counterfeit menace. My colleagues and I made key management and organizational changes. The staff and board relations is sound. I wish ACA team well.

I thank Adan Mohammed, Cabinet Secretary for Industry, Trade and Cooperatives for the opportunity of serving on the ACA board.

My aspiration is to take the fight on consumer injustices and counterfeits to the Counties as well as make it a key focus area for the Council of Governors.

I will continue discharging my duties as Secretary General at Cofek.
